The farmer plays an essential role, but they need a farm. People are losing their land — both to economic overpowerment and shifting cultural priorities.
Want to know why so many people are starving? Because they aren’t able to feed themselves. They are losing the knowledge because being a farmer isn’t respected. Because the “Western life” (whatever that means) is being glorified. Because large industrial farming is elbowing them off their land (or taking their water). They are forgetting their roots because their roots are taken from them.
