Rava (Sooji or Semolina) Uthappam from Tamil Nadu

Ingredients

  1. Rava - 2 cups
  2. Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Maida - 1 tablespoon
  4. Carrot - 2, grated
  5. Tomato - 1, finely chopped
  6. Onion - 1, finely chopped
  7. Ginger - 1" piece, finely chopped
  8. Coriander leaf - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  9. Pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - as needed

Procedure

  1. Mix all ingredients, except oil, with enough water to form a dosa consistency batter.
  2. Heat a tava. Pour out a ladle full of batter on to it. Spread. Dab required amount of oil. Roast till uthappam is brown. Flip, roast a couple of minutes. Take off the fire.

Serve hot with coconut chutney, milagai podi, and tomato chutney.
