CRISPY DAL VADA from Kerala

Ingredients

  1. Channa dal - 1 cup soaked for one hour.
  2. Ginger - one inch size
  3. Garlic cloves - 4 to 5
  4. Dry red chillies - 3
  5. Fennel seeds - one teaspoon
  6. Onions -Finely chopped one
  7. Green chillies - finely chopped 2
  8. Curry leaves - one spring
  9. Daniya - two spoons chopped
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - to fry.

Procedure

  1. Grind soaked and drained channa dal with garlic, ginger, fennel seeds, curry leaves and salt.
  2. Grind to coarse consistency.
  3. Add onions, green chillies, daniya seeds and salt.
  4. Heat the oil in the pan and take a lemon sized batter and flattened and deep fry till it becomes crispy.

The Dal Vadas are now ready to serve with some steaming tea!!
