Black Chana Chutney

This Chutney, rich in protein and iron, serves as a healthy accompaniment served with roti and parathas.


  1. Green Chilli- 3-4
  2. Roasted black chickpeas- 100g (remove the skin)
  3. Fresh coconut- 50g
  4. Mustard seeds- 1/4th tbs
  5. Curry Leaves- 8-10 leaves
  6. Whole red chillies- 2
  7. Salt- to taste
  8. Water- ½ bowl (depending on the consistency)
  9. Mustard oil- 1 spoon


  1. Grind coconut, chickpeas, garlic, green chillies and salt in mixie.
  2. Temper/ tadka red chilli, curry leaves and mustard seeds in hot oil.
  3. Once the temper cools down, mix it with the ground ingredients from step 1.
  4. You may mix water to get the desired consistency.
  5. The Chutney is ready to be served!
